If your intent when you purchased was to hold for productive use then the 1031 is appropriate.There are many ways to demonstrate your intent including your past history, current practice, written correspondence with professionals revenue generated over time, and reporting on your tax filings.In general also holding longer is better than shorter.

So the amount that was unpaid which corresponds to usage from Mid-Jan through end of March is mostly the tenant's responsibility but it was billed to my account that unbeknown to me was still open.

Perhaps our written correspondence and messaging from our Investor Relations Department didn’t explain this enough but Dan is correct.It doesn’t make fiscal sense to continue paying such high rates in the current environment, especially with lower interest rates and access to more affordable capital.I should also clearly state that it is a possibility we could call the 10% fund earlier than expected as well.
