You can combine some and write a single larger check if possible.Make sure everything is crystal clear before you even start work....everything should be specc'ed out and in the SOW or Contract, down to the type of cabinet knobs...leave nothing to chance...Hope this helps!

Obviously no one has a crystal ball and knows for sure, but since you would be here for a few years, keep in mind the refi process with a VA Loan which is an IRRL, is cheap and simple...so even if you buy now with no money down, use your $15k savings for some value add to the property, and then rates continue to decline, you'll be able to easily refi with a VA IRRL and drop your payment anyways before you go transition to LTR in the next few years.Lots to think about, plenty of ways to go about it, not right or wrong, just depends on your needs so reach out if you'd like any guidance...

While no one has a crystal ball, consider whether that amount is right for a downpayment for your family given the new area, home price ranges (which may continue to appreciate, especially if rates come down in 2024), and the resulting expected monthly payments on a new mortgage. $50k might be the right amount, but if you haven't already projected monthly P&I on the new home at $50k down, I'd recommend doing so before committing remainder to investments.3.
