The property that I purchased was a 3 BR / 1.5 Bath 4 blocks from the beach but it was more cost effective for me to rent out that house and have live by myself in a smaller place - perfect for 1.I was still renting that same apartment when I purchased my second property.Sure, I could by a house/condo, live in it and pay the whole shebang or live with roommates - or I could find a place that is low cost and have someone else pay the PITI on an income producing property.Good luck!

You purchase the condo, live on it, and get extra income from the 2 bedrooms.The one that provides the most cash flow (or requires the least cash flow) will be the one ideal scenario. 

Of course, I offered my condolences and that I was glad the house had a main floor room and bathroom that would be so helpful.However, now I am wondering about the liability I might incur on this.
