I want to get out of this scene and move into real estate, but I'm not sure what route to take.This past year I've found BiggerPockets and have been listening to various podcasts on the site religiously.

Let’s say you go through with it but someone can’t due to religious or medical conditions what would your stance be.  

What I am getting at is you are more likely to hit your target--if you can describe it more exactly.A good book to read that will help you figure things out more precisely is "Awaken the Giant Within" by Tony Robbins.If you read it and do the written questions, it will walk you through the steps to come up with a more specific goal than just "Looking to get into Real Estate".Then once you know a little more about what you want to do--there can be a lot of help in here for you.Another good book to read is "Rich Dad Poor Dad".Good Luck!

Out of state investors looking in Killeen seeing the prices but not understanding the neighborhood is in for a rood awakening when managing it. 

The best strategy for you will really come down to your individual risk comfort level.Whatever path you go with, though, treat the businesses religiously . . . attend to them in every way as separate businesses if they are separate and you'll hopefully uphold the purpose of an LLC with operating as a business in earnest.
