Under Contract and Basement Flooded. Now what?

We're under contract on a primary and we were just notified that the basement flooded. The entire basement has a sheet of water after an unprecedented heavy storm. Sellers sent photos through our attorney. What kind of options do we have? We're past the inspection period.

A man was lost at sea. A cruise ship came by and offered rescue, the man declined and said God will save me. A Helicopter hoovered over and offered rescue, the man declined and said God will save me. A fishing boat came by and offered rescue, the man once again declined and said God will save me.

The man perished, went to heaven and asked God why he forsake him.  God replied, I sent a ship, helicopter and a boat and you refused to be rescued.

God sent you a message with a flooded basement.  Don't refuse the rescue. Walk away.

BTW, I am not religious, but I do know flooded basements and danger signs.
