NOt a bad idea to speak with Realtors that are "in the know" for that area, however, being a newbie investor, you run the risk of not knowing the difference between which realtor is good and which is bad, which is blowing smoke up your rear and which is being honest.make sure you educate yourself on operating costs, managing procedures, legal issues, etc and know the ins and outs of a landlording business BEFORE you start speaking to these people.
