You go girl,.. you take control and as soon as you can you give notice to whom  you want I can understand previous owners, but if you want to be gracious you could give notice of non-renewal and 60 day notice to vacate,  so they can have a bit more time to adjust and get things figured out.

If your girl friend isn't down with house hacking, you should try and explain the benefits of it and try to align your goals.

When I connect my real estate passion with helping others and tell her stories of the little girls who said all they want for Christmas is a home to live in she cried (this happened yesterday).
