@Brenda Whittaker I’m calling a little self-indulgence here’. are you perhaps beating yourself up to make yourself feel better about taking the money?

Make it a game where you set goals every month and the person who wins get a reward (ie the others make them their favourite dinner or dessert-something that does NOT cost a lot of money).  

Started with him missing our scheduled meeting because he was waiting for his dessert at brunch.

Experiences are ultimately more lasting than short term material self indulgence. 

It’s like driving across the dessert on bald tires and no spare.
