For a cheaper electrical fix, to get extra power into a room, once a sub-panel is added next to the original breaker box; pay an electrician to run metal conduit on the outside of the wall, from sub-panel to the room that needs the extra power.

Where fishing new wiring through the walls was too hard/costly, I've replaced it by using surface mount wiring from the breaker panel, which by using the round metal piping/conduit can look quite nice depending on the space (i.e. loft style).
