US population is still growing due to immigration and even in other countries where population is stagnating or declining (Europe, Japan)  housing prices and rents haven't dropped dramatically to my knowledge.

In the mid eighties immigrating to the US was difficult-took time and cost money.

It's funny to look at the states and see that those that aren't attractive are only gaining immigrants from neighboring states

You'd need all the immigration papers ready before applying for SSN.

According to the US Secretary of State website, immigrants apply for a SSN at the time they apply for a work visa.

-She fast-talked me into giving her a three year lease and a cheap rent because she wanted immigration (her husband just got his green card) required it.
