It might cause me financial harm as I have to sell more stocks and might pay short term capital gains vs long term capital gains.

@Jade Frank I agree with what @Dominic Mazzarella and others are saying here, but If you find the downside outweighs the gain and you ultimately decide to sell the property, Since the property was held for investment use it would qualify for a 1031 exchange. 

At the very least you will want to have some general foundations set because with time you will modify processes and the learnings via experience you gain.

But it can be useful for rentals with gains also. 

Unless you prefer an active job and happy to gain the savings in return - nothing wrong with this. 

I have been fortunate to meet two of those individuals and gained a mentor.

The West and South posted more modest gains of 6.9% and 0.5%.

Hence gaining real life experience property managing, even in the short term, will give you the tools to be a great asset manager.

If you're just going in to learn, you could probably gain some value.
