We usually go somewhere between santa Barbara, and San Diego for bicycling, beach, wine tasting, paddle boarding etc. 

Plus for my taste, RR and Pflugerville aren't growing at the same rapid pace as Austin. 

AirBnB doesn't lock you into a year lease with someone so your wife will get a brief taste and be able to better determine if she can handle it.

For a flip or rental they are very taste specific.
