There are 5 on my street and every week, we deal with the same issues- noise, trash-which brings in the bears, speeding, campfire/BBQ smoke (even though they are banned), etc.  

The county is now considering banning STRs altogether due to rise in illegal rentals.

Nearly everyday, another California city makes headlines for banning AirBNB; mandating a minimum 30 day rental - AKA MTR. 

AZ is very pro-STR so there is no specific zoning areas for STRs, unless you are in an HOA (where they can be banned).

Let’s not pretend vacation rental owners have the upper hand here when it comes to property rights; they’re on shaky ground in most places where they’re not already banned as the precedent has been set many times by now that local governments don’t have to allow commercial activity in residentially zoned neighborhoods.

Some of the townships have outright banned STR and some HOAs levy a steep fee ($100 or more) per rental. 

I'm sure you've heard, Dallas city council voted to ban all airbnbs in residential areas.

But there is an active court case to block their ability to ban them.

So as a realtor in New York, the government has banned cold-calls due to the pandemic. 

one thing i would say with STR is check with local laws, and what is being discussed... some places are starting to ban them and some have tried. i believe dallas just did out here in texas.that being said things like airdna.com would be your go to for how places are performing in certain zip codes, there is however a cost for it.
