We have a rental there as well and had no issues getting it rented out, however you have to know that the area is a summer getaway and most of the industry is tailored around tourism and healthcare for retirees who live up there full time.  

Bottom line is if you strategically adjust your income you qualify for a ton of Govt-paid programs, one of which is healthcare insurance.

I am skeptic in it however especially having lived in other parts of the world. it is very difficult to analyze all the factors that going into cost of living because government, healthcare, and tax code amongst many other things.

Because a lot of people believe they are good with money but they forget about the planning aspect: taxes, draw down strategies, social security strategies, health care, risk protection, and legacy planning just to name a few.

In healthcare, a TON of employers will do that!
