Mike Franco should carpets be replaced every 10 years regardless?

With carpet...I shampoo and steam clean it time after time after time...then when you think its destroyed...I dye it for $150...looks new....then the cycle starts over again...shampoo and steam cleaning at each turnover....finally after it has been reduced to basically indoor/outdoor carpet thickness....I replace it with the cheapest carpet I can possibly find...usually about .69 cents labor and materials.

@Andrew Bertram: You should not remediate but coat it with a very secure and thick paint that seals in all the asbestos fibers, which are the source of the problem.

One of our concerns was that the material we've been reading could have been out of date - but this site has helped resolve that concern.I've already learned new things and heard interesting opinions in the first hour I've been on the site.Just as an FYI - we've been reading the wholesaling program from Dwan Twyford - I don't agree with everything, but it's a start - comments welcome :)Anyway, we hope to get to know many of you and are really looking forward to learning from individuals who are in the thick of it right now.

That's what people need - a sense of belongingness (via Maslow's hierarchy of needs).I would encourage you to 1) have thick skin 2) do easy things and build goodwill + momentum, and 3) use the DVP change formula at all time (check out: http://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/2997/blog_posts/24776-how-using-the-dvp-change-formula-can-help )

You just see an image of a lone sink with no vanity attached (Which also makes it look dated IMO) and a mirror above, and on the walls is a really thick type texture.
