The schools aren't really bad, it's just a perception issue.  

I'd think that there might be the false perception of something being not legal (like some people think that taking a property sub-to is illegal) than there actually being anything illegal in the course.

They strong arm as it's all about the dollar.For residential homebuyers and sellers a REALTOR might have a perception of greater value to them because of ethics.

But often it's possible that there's a bigger picture, which could really change your perception.

I have no idea whether or not the power lines are dangerous, but I won't buy under or near high tension lines because of the public perception that they are dangerous.I don't buy properties that have problems that are outside my power to fix.
