I'm looking to become a commercial real estate broker specializing in Industrial and Office, and am in need of some books that most comprehensively outline the life cycle of a commercial real estate deal.

Multiple industries in that area is also a plus. 

I would love any pointers or specific advice from anyone who has experience in the industry!

Should I keep trying to learn on my own or start to reach out to people in the industry to try and learn the ropes?

Specifically on the self storage side of things, if I remember correctly there is an Ohio association for self storage operators, perhaps you can use that list to get intouch with operators that might know about industry meetups, and that might be a good place to start for dealflow as well.
