I have had this issue as well - in fact rent went up by $114 with no notice on there ledger...no late payments or anything....I had to switch payment options to cover the new ledger number.

If you don't follow the process perfectly (such as by not delivering notice on time, or in the right way, or charging unfairly such as for normal wear and tear) you will be SOL and could even end up having to return the security deposit or even pay them more $ above the security deposit.

Hello,I see that in California, landlords need to give 60-days of notice for leases that are over 1 year old, and 30 for under a year old.
