I've come to realize that to get what you want in life and especially in the real estate business you oftentimes have to be the aggressor in terms of your negotiations, making sure your contractors are working and in getting the best deals for yourself.This is the first flat out disagreement I've encountered in my short real estate investing career and it's given me the confidence in the future to better control my contractors in order to make sure I get what I need done.

On the other hand, since this is an REO, you can encounter similar results quite often for a multitude of reasons.As for the camping excuse, any agent with outstanding listings should have the brains to place someone in charge to answer and return calls on their listings while away, that is just simple good business practice and most lack it.

Being a bit gun shy on Dayton, our current thinking is to look to Columbus since it doesn't appear to be reliant on manufacturing for employment - state capital, massive university etc.We may encounter a few more hurdles getting started since neither of us are permanent residents (green cards are probably a year away), although we didn't have any problem purchasing our own home.

And on reflection I can see how absolutely impersonal that is to receive some stupid auto message that states you only give a crap about your customers twice daily.In fact the book is so popular that I have encountered 4 "Tim" based auto-reply emails with the same disrespectful content come from NZ businesses.
