The exterior on the other hand looks totally different.In retrospect would you have put all the money into the retaining wall system or just cleaned it up?

I offered to put $200 down - in retrospect even though I had read that people put this much down I should have offered more but now they are asking for 5% which is $16,000!

In retrospect we did start out too high. 

When I first started we were in SoCal and I self managed 2 LTR in St George UT and learned so so much but in retrospect what I learned starting STR was on par with each other but with the monetary gains way more.

But the only way you'll really know is in retrospect.

Be sure to ask for a retrospective appraisal to your dad's date of death.  

In retrospect, I should have estimated for flooring as well.The other basic but important thing is to always take quotes from multiple contractors just to make sure you are not being taken for a ride.

In retrospect that was like striking gold, but at the time REI veterans we’re telling me the time had already passed to invest, (much like today). 

The only experience I have had with real estate was the purchase and sale of my condominium, and the purchase of my current single family residence, which in retrospect, I could have made better decisions with what I know now. 

Fast forward to 2014 I'd done well over the years with my day job and with the cash I'd decided that I'd rather eliminate my mortgage payment (poor choice in retrospect but didn't really know any better at the time).
