Let's parlay those Reserves!  

If I was a gambler, provided you have everything documented, etc I would wager a finding of brokering without a license.

If you parlay your down payment into leveraged properties, your money will grow faster, and that $250,000 could be more than enough to last you the rest of your life by the time you decide to retire.

As you grind along as  Realtor you will come across deals that you might be able to parlay your commission into a piece of the project (commissions can really add up).  

I have also purchased cash flowing properties out of state (Phoenix) and like a hybrid strategy of building equity (but lower cashflow) in SoCal 1st and then parlay that equity (via cash out refi and redeployed cashflow) into higher cashflow (but lower appreciation) markets out of state. 

There are a few successful job-quitting stories, which you can find on the forums, but I'd wager there a hundreds of unposted horror stories of those who quit their job, only to find themselves far worse off, but nobody posts that!

We have our first four plex that we bought for a great price, and now have about 40k in equity that I hope to parlay into something else soon.  

I would wager that this is the case for 99% of the members on the site asking this question.

I'd wager a guess there is a US bank or Fedex office or something private that has a shorter wait time. 

Since you are worried about it, I would wager that you have some anxiety about what you are doing and/or the current workplace environment.
