We have an influx of tourists and locals all year long making it a very profitable market for STRs.

I hear good things about Stuart FL but not too sure how much tourist draw there is. 

Look for areas that are popular with tourists or have a high demand for short-term rentals. 4.

If buying a condo/apartment (in PR we don't make the distinction like in the states) I would stick to Condado/Isla Verde/Miramar in San Juan since you can rent it to tourists as well as locals.

Also another idea I have is Ketchikan is a huge tourist destination, our population doubles in the summer months, but I have an in with a tourist company that I could rent a multi family by room to increase my income, and the tourist company would deal with most of the drama that the tenants would have if the problem pokes its head up.

Opened after tourist season of course.

Primary residence is a 50 acre, 3 house property that backs up to a tourist spot. 

I live in the Lansing, MI area, so not a big tourist destination by any means, but I should be able to make some traction with both of these methods.  

I am currently looking at a mixed property of 6 apartments and 2 commercial units in a seasonal tourist area. 

Visiting family members, short term hospital or university staff, maybe a few tourists, and the folks getting squeezed between selling and buying a home or between rentals due to inventory shortage.
