We are revamping our website, putting out more bandit signs, printed a car magnet to put on my gf's dad's van ( he runs a newspaper route), flyers, business cards, contracted with a couple of postal workers to bird dog for us, and purchased a new marketing list for our direct mail campaign.One thing we are focusing a lot on now is pounding the pavement.

That's typically a large list with all tax defaults big and small and all property types, with no indexing.Lists of property that has reached it's power to sell status (5 years tax defaulted) are published annually in a local adjudicated newspaper as per civil code.  

Back when I rented in the GTA, putting up a yard sign and running a small ad in the local community newspaper was still effective, not as many leads as Kijiji, but did get the occasional tenant from those means.

Another good source are the printed obituary listings from the local newspaper archives.

Facebook will work a lot better than the newspaper.

I took my ad out of the newspaper for those periods and didn't hardly receive a call.

Newspapers, Calling local apartment buildings for prices etc?

Can I find out about preforeclosures before the 3 week time period that they are released in the newspapers and courthouse?

All the people that are scared of real estate now are the ones that are going to be eager to purchase a bunch of properties that don't cash flow when the newspapers, tv ,etc tells them "now is the time to buy".

Also, don't waste money on local newspaper advertising.
