Privacy comes at a premium, and you should look to your market rent to see how much more you can extract on a single family home against a multifamily and whether that premium beats the cost savings of a multifamily (e.g. capital expenditures).For example, I have a single family, and in reviewing market rent, I noted that multifamily units and apartments often included utilities in their rent price whereas single family units didn't.

Hard for us to give advice without having a bigger picture.The reality is that some PM's don't share a lot of detail about tenants they select due to privacy concerns, but yes, for 30 days lag they should have called you and asked for your approval on the timeframe.

If I was single, I definitely would rent out part of the house to other people but as a couple, we enjoy our privacy and are not as comfortable house-hacking with other people.Question for you gents, I do have extra money that I can pay down on my mortgage (probably around an extra $500-$700  per month).
