And it is perfectly acceptable to have the living room/kitchen with one decoration style (coastal) and bedrooms with different styles (kids game room like what @Dave Stokley has done, and perhaps a bedroom that is more elegant such as with a 4 post bed.

There are definitely some elements of Mardi Gras themes in a lot of the STRs in our area but it seems like most are going with a "simple elegance" theme in their listings and I agree having a more colorful theme would make us stand out more.

Heck, even $500k RVs are generally produced a solid 15 years behind the trends because their older audience prefers those styles, and manufactured homes are about 8 years behind--they'll still be making distressed shiplap 5 years from now even as everyone else goes to more elegant wood slats or more rustic bits that look like they were just hewn off a tree.
