I have a number of friends in the Meyerland area who woke up to 3-4 feet of water and have pretty much lost everything as their homes are completely submerged. 19 people from our church have evacuated and are in emergency accommodation with 2 families (one with a pregnant wife) are trapped in their homes and cannot get through to rescue services.I live in the medical centre district and the water was 2 inches up our front doors, but luckily only got a little wet, and quickly went back down to the road when we had a little respite.However, I know that Houstonians are resilient, and will rebuild quickly!

Try to invest close to the future LRT, Terwillegar Rec Centre is a very desirable area, Secord community is getting their Rec Centre so this area is booming and will get lot of value.My partner has lots of condos and he is selling lots of them told me the same thing, "I am tired of this condos fees

I appreciate you’ve got a budget, just, a detached $200k house in one of the major centres in sask is going to be junk and in a C class area at best.

Depending where you are, some of those may be on sale at garden centres this time of year.

Have you considered smaller centres in other provinces?

Edmonton and Calgary are large centres that also offer opportunity.
