The building was vacant as we are remodeling the first floor and had just finished painting the 2nd and 3rd floors and were in the process of qualifying tenants to move in the following week. 

New build maybe a bit aggressive getting into real estate unless you have a builder as a partner in a deal to see the full steps or stages that go into new builds.Why new build?

Yes, you bought what seems like a good deal on paper, but in reality, you own an old apartment building in a neighborhood with poor security, possibly surrounded by long-vacant shops, streets piled with garbage, and a poorly managed community.

From the assessor's site, the land-use records show that the encroaching property owner has only been paying taxes for their plotted land, while the subject property has been paying the taxes for land on which the other’s building partially sits.

I know of only one building that allows Mid-Term Rental 1 month or longer.   

I am located in Maine and have 2 six unit buildings, 2 four units, and a 5 unit.

@Christopher Mooney - I house-hack a 2 Unit Building in Bayridge Brooklyn which is a 45 minute subway ride to Manhattan Wall Street Financial District (a 7 mile drive).

If it's going to continue to be a 3 unit building, it would make sense to add another service.
