I'm in a situation where I would actually prefer to turn my crowdfunding investments (over $300k of investments across 45 deals) into a trade or business and report it on Schedule C and opt into paying social security tax, etc. instead of just reporting aggregating the income from 1099s and K-1s onto the interest/dividends line of my tax return.  

I also have my social security number.

My background is in any customer facing business, particularly restaurants (yes I am a people person and can BS with the best), however I am also great with technology particularly social media (Twitter, Facebook and facebook ads).  

As I see it, landlords can be an asset to the neighborhood, or they can suck the life out of it.Well said, I could not agree more, there is a social responsibility that comes with holding properties.
