DSCR loans are subprime loans that were re-branded and the name was stolen from the commercial portfolio loan industry.

Between technology, the media coverage and the settlement itself, while the vast majority of sales will probably still be on market (MLS itself could have some issues going forward as a result of this settlement) but on the margins there will be an uptick of fsbo, of discount brokerages, again it won’t fundamentally change the majority of transactions but I expect the housing market to get even weirder than it already has been the past few years. it is invitation for the industry to be transformed, whether FSBO would be king, whether flat fee agent is rising, whether zillow or homes.com would be offering something revolutionary, that would be something new.the very fact that price fixing is gone is that, price fixing is gone.

The industry might be heading towards some substantial shifts, but it's also filled with opportunities for growth and innovation.

Industry still looks at STR as a bit riskier than LTR cause there's no lease.Lots of investors use bridge loans which are short term loan programs that include funding toward the acquisition plus funding toward the rehab. 

However, I have an entrepreneurial spirit and have a business idea surrounding how the current industry leverages security deposits.

I work in restaurants operations management and would eventually like to get out of the industry. 

For the rehab portion, I have not yet done a rehab on a property but I have been in the construction industry for over 25 years and do understand processes, contracts, and timelines. 

I can also see some bad things happening between these squatters and a landlord who has just had enough.Random thoughts:This will certainly affect those of us in the RE industry.
