Every year their donation reduced their actual income significantly and much of her generosity she could not write off such as letting someone down on their luck live with them for extended period of time all the time (multiple people, multiple times)).

She would ask for a dollar and would refuse any donation that was less than a dollar and any increment also less than a dollar.

That money would be much better spent buying real estate or throwing Christmases hams out to my tenants with enough left over to donate to charity.

Last time I checked, the ROI on making donations to an insurance company for over-priced insurance wasn't that good lol
