I’ve heard horror stories of folks using “unlicensed” contractors, but I’m all turned around whether that means business licensed or contractor licensed.Hope my question makes sense!

If you have an uninsured worker renovate your bathroom and it starts a fire (even for no reason of theirs), your insurance company will NOT cover the damages.Plus the next potential buyer for the home will check the permit records and see that the work was not permitted/licensed (you typically need a License to pull a permit) and there goes about 50% of the value on that square footage.....Generally, a licensed Contractor will deliver a far superior product than a Handyman or unlicensed scab.

They are often motivated only to keep the monthly fees low, which they accomplish in the relatively short term by deferring maintenance on items they feel are less important, and by "saving money" using unlicensed and often poor quality vendors to make improper or inadequate repairs.
