Plus it's very beautiful :)  Lots of visitors feel the same way - they don't want to be in the middle of everything 24/7, they want to feel like they're off in nature but still be able to be in town in 15-20 minutes when they want to go out to dinner.  

The network engineer in me is screaming, "This is waaaay to complicated and a waste of my precious time.

You have probably noticed that the market heats up coming into season..Nov/Dec - April/May when we get a huge influx of Snowbirds and visitors who want to enjoy the climate and the amenities ( not nearly as intensive this year fyi due to COVID but still pretty noticeable increase in population) - many of them are looking for a property to buy or are looking to sell and downsize if they own already.

In a typical year, the Hollywood Walk of Fame would be flooded with visitors from around the world.

It's taking me a lot of hard thinking to figure out the answer when the pseudo-promise of long-term appreciation hangs over my head; meanwhile,  my house sits in hell-zone of constant noise and "visitor" traffic.50% of people I ask about this say I should hold the house because the Bay is so hard to get into, and prices will go up over the long-term.

Can anyone recommend any good website to visit or good books to read regarding buying tax lien properties?  

Not exactly a screaming deal, but what led me to shake off analysis paralysis and take the plunge was a combination of factors: 1. 

COVID only impacted us for about a month & then we saw a tremendous surge in visitors that doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. 

Success with Airbnb is very dependent on reviews, so you must go above and beyond the visitors expectations - which is time consuming. 

I bought the apartments in 2018 for $590,000 and it cash flows $40k annually so a screaming deal!
