I've definitely seen bank statements requested so I was taken off-guard when someone was so adamant about not giving the account numbers.  

The market is very opaque and people guard their sources and pricing models, since those are their competitive advantages.

This takes the pressure off of them and they won’t put their guard up.

The only way I have successfully seen someone guard against theft is a house sitter while the house is being rehabbed/listed.

Just be careful to guard against over-optimism. 

I currently have a leaf guard/gutter estimator and a septic system inspector who send me leads.  

He said that I've got water under the foundation and basically surrounding the house and that I would need to have them come in jackhammer around the entire perimeter of the interior and install water guard drainage pipes and a sump pump and dehumidifier under the stairs. 

Though this is my 2nd rental property it's the first that I financed so I was a bit caught off guard by the extra scrutiny even though this was not my first rental project.

Ok, so I've only sent out roughly 15 post cards and got a call today from one of my post cards, it really caught me off guard.

Are you transitioning to the Guard or anything?
