Jeff Caravalho SD IRA (or solo401K) question
25 March 2016 | 21 replies
This new alternative setup would be quite simple: Oakbrook PM LLC adopts QRP (Solo 401k)As part of the plan creation we would create a trust with the purpose of holding plan's assets You become the trustee of the trust (which give you power and control over all assets and investments)Trust will have it's own EIN (single number)Both you and your wife will have separate accounts as plan participants under the same trust (there is no additional cost for another plan participant)Also, each of you can have separate Roth accounts under the same plan, if you chose to make post tax contributions or do the conversion (there is no additional cost for Roth sub-accounts, that comes with every single plan)By doing truly self-directed Solo 401k plan you would have significantly reduced your cost, simplified the structure and gained more flexibility!

I am struggling with deciding whether or not to start an LLC and try to transfer the title (in an effort to protect my net worth and assets outside or RE) or go about this process a different way. There does not seem to be any clear and concise information out there about LLC creation/transferring titles, most advice seems to direct investors toward speaking with a Lawyer.I would love to hear how the community has tackled this challenge, protected their assets, and continued investing in real estate.Thank you in advance.
