He basically said the same thing the inspector said and I trust this guy 100%.So, I think I would first try to determine the damage and make sure you discuss with the termite inspector so you can get a good read on the situation.Around here, if you get a chemical treatment it will come with a warranty of 1 year.

It may sound harsh, but if they can't afford to buy in their own backyard, then frankly they can't really afford to live there, rent increases will completely price them out of living there sooner or later, and their best course of action is likely to move somewhere where they can afford, or change their financial habits such that they can afford it, or both.
