I have attended the annual meetings before but have never been in a position to serve on the Board of Directors. 

Currently I'm the political director for a non-profit. 

As stated you will still be personally on the hook for the mortgage, directors will still be held liable, Canada is far from the libelous situation as the US and the higher tax rate doesn't warrant the benefits, if any, for private real estate investors.Stick with protecting yourself through insurance. 

I am a digital advertising director and my partner is a full time contractor.  

Warren wasn't bad until the director retired and then they were terrible.

As a woman looking to start out in REI I want to know what's the biggest draw back, if there is any, to being a female in this business.
