New Investor from Buffalo, NY

Hello Everyone,

My name is Mike Radomski.  I live just outside of Buffalo, NY in a suburb called Hamburg, NY.  I have a beautiful wife and two boys, 10 and 11.  I currently work as an IT Director for a very large state agency.

I am a strong believer in living below your means and investing.  I subscribe to the Mustachian way of life, see Mr. Money Mustache.  I have been investing in stocks and REITs for quite some time and now am looking to take the next step in Real Estate.  My goal is to create generational wealth and create the freedom to live an amazing life.  More than money, I want time.  Time to spend doing the things I love, time to spend with my family.

I have bought or sold 4 different properties on my own. I am currently getting rid of my last liability, a vacation home in Chautauqua county. I'd love to hang on to it, but I cannot make the numbers work with either rental or VRBO. I hope to use the proceeds to buy my first REI.

My short-term goal is to purchase 5 small multi-family/small apartments in the next 2 years. I would also like to flip one house either to sell or buy and hold, I think the BP way of saying it is BRRR.

I am using BP as a great place for education and am just starting to participate in the forums hoping to network with some people in my area.

Being an IT professional, I am interested in making data work for me.  I have experience with automated data extraction and manipulation, as well as, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial analysis.  I would love to hear how I can make data and maps work for me (us) to find better deals.

Cheers,

Mike
