I understand the culture a little more than the average US citizen and I fully understand the difference between a US tenant in that asset class and a Japanese tenant in that asset class.. the two could not be more polar opposite. 

Accommodations for people with disabilities and also language and cultural support services.

The local culture and rental demand would be the driving factor as to whether that was a big detractor.

believe me when I first came to the east coast to do business  ( attorney abstractor states) it was a business/culture shock.. what do you mean I cant get a title commitment in 24 hours..

You do not have to invest in the corporate headquarters location to benefit from the growth of tech and tech industry job bass is only one element investors should consider when investing, others are strong population/job growth, job diversity, unique culture, price-to-rent ratios, master plan reviews etc.I don't think the future is primary international tech gateways.

I just saw documentary called Real Estate Wars: Inside the class and culture battle that's tearing San Francisco apart.

Also established the first set of Environmental Investment Funds for Friends Provident (years back)The demand is growing - so plant yourself firmly, establish your reputation and ultimately you can blossom.The market most people go for are the alternative culture types - but that is wrong - they have no money, or little.

As @Dawn Brenengen pointed out, iterations of mold is all over the place and my understanding is that very few of the cultures are actually detrimental to typical humans.  

Comparing to the other places that I lived before, Ohio, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston, SF is way better in terms of weather, food, culture, and job market diversity.

So the actual culture of the city and how it's residents perceive condos is something to consider.
