Raw land?

I want to use some of the proceeds to launch into real estate investing.My initial idea was to buy parcels of raw land, deal with the county to get all the necessary permits to then install power, water, septic, access road etc. 

Are there any success stories out there that involve a raw land or recreational land deal?

I guess the question is: how difficult is it usually to get a street number/address assigned to a vacant lot or raw land?

I guess I just don't fully understand their rules about buying raw land, improving and selling it.

Raw land is a completely different animal altogether.

I know that most investors lump developers and builders into one category, but in my mind they are separate.Developers - buy raw ground and do horizontal construction (utilities, roads, sidewalks, etc)Builders - buy build ready lots and do veritical construction (homes, commercial buildings, apartments)Many times both tasks are performed by the same person/company, leading to the confusion.How developers make money:1.
