Scroll down to the appropriate person and the @Name will become highlighted further notifying that individual someone has mentioned them in a post.

Alternatively you can scroll through past discussions in the tax page, or go to the "Build Your Team" tab and see professionals who have partnered with BiggerPockets. 

Those alerts can also be seen if you mouse over the "Inbox" on the upper right menu bar and scroll down.
