TLDR; I would not be interested in fighting legislation.  

Legislators, attorneys, and brokers want you to believe there is a fine line because there knowledge and power are based in the fuzziness of the "gray area".

I can see how legislation might be necessary.I am just curious/concerned how the state can take away an individual's right to assign handling legal matters to someone else.

There has been some new legislation in the past couple of years and this year, such as the TRACED Act, the STIR/SHAKEN Protocol, the Pallone-Thune Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence Act, etc.

Unfortunately, the City of Chicago hasn't been updating their legislation website, but I was on a call this morning with an Alderman that stated several versions of eviction legislation are floating around City Hall.

What Legislation is being supported and likely to pass (for instance, rent control legislation will have a huge negative effect), etc.I am a proponent of using your intellect to have a vision of the next 10 years.Afterall, Squirrels know that if they don't gather than nuts and bury them for the future, they will die by the time the Winter is in full swing.If a simple Squirrel can calculate for the future, why can't we?

This is a bizarre concept that our wise legislators came up with while trying to make their random depreciation periods appear less random.

Start reading about NYS Laws and pending legislation.

Sub-to's still have a place IMO, but the Guru's may soon have to start re-thinking their sales pitch to the newbies...and I suspect those who continue to sell these on wraps may be want start picking out a good attorney as I imagine we'll soon see class actions and likely some more state and/or federal legislation.
