Nope; don't know of any that are free, though you may want to check out our directory of online property management software . . . some do offer free trials from what I recall.

I've downloaded the BiggerPockets guide to my Dropbox directory.

That may not be completely true today, but from what I've read, if you're putting everything on the same domain and have the choice between sub-domains (blog.mysite.com) and sub-directories (mysite.com/blog), that sub-directories are the better way to go for SEO purposes.

I'd start by reading through our BiggerPockets Blog, followed by our articles directory and forums.
