I used to save a lot of stuff, and still have a lot of it in a storage container in my back yard.

Se if you can eventually intern at a commercial firm close to you in the asset class sub niche that you have interest in such as (large multifamily, office, warehouse, retail, industrial, self storage, etc.)  

One person comes up with the idea to turn this land into an RV storage. noted this vacant land has no automated gate, no security camera, nothing. but he is willing to clean up the land and prepare it for the RV storage. after it's done, he will be marketing and managing everything.

Flipping properties, wholesaling, long-term rentals, commercial, multifamily, single family, self-storage, commercial, retail etc.

Just acquired a very underperforming self-storage facility in Los Angeles area. 

Plumbing from previous kitchen behind wall (currently no kitchen or cabinets), 1/2 of basement is utilities, laundry, storage & back exit (could extend hallway & turn storage area into 2nd bedroom while enclosing laundry and utilities).- Garage/Backyard: Yard is standard Chicago size with above ground pool that takes up most space (girlfriend wants to keep, I want to get rid of haha).

Another one could be those that buy storage units. 

I was able to leave my full time job over 7 years ago to do real estate investments full time.We tried almost every strategy (wholesale, fix and flip, lease options, private money, storage units, multifamily, etc). 

I suppose they could add more storage in other ways, if necessary.
