I "get" those acting from the crayon-box of simplicity in "payoff debt, get to 0, then maybe, someday, start" but truth is, for the disciplined, strategic, methodical persons, yes there is a better way that get's debt free AND builds LT wealth generation all at same time.

I think the other methods you mentioned can be just as if not more profitable as storage again depending on strategy, deal and execution.

With this method you would have a total of 3 properties your (primary, accidental property, and new investment property).If you are interested in getting rid of the accidental property doing the 1031 exchange tax wise would be more beneficial to do than just selling the accidental home and not using the funds to purchase a home of equal or greater value.
