I live in the mountains and showing places in blue jeans and tennis shoes is completely normal.

One of them comes home at 3AM every night and I assume he is taking off his shoes and drops them and wakes us up every single night.- Since they all work different hours the kid does not live on normal kid hours.

If the marks are just a few scuffs that happen in any home (from moving furniture, a shoe rubbing against a wall, etc.), that's normal wear and tear.

New shoes... well, they're just not as comfortable as my oldies.

Since I was a child, I've done something with real estate - starting with building houses out of shoe boxes, then drawing them (by hand) along with floor plans before entering high school.

Come on now - if the shoe were on the other foot - say I lived across the street from you - and saw what I misguidedly interpreted as "suspicious" activity.
