I'm not real sure why there seems to be such a softening, but it is definitely happening.

The well water was terrible before I put the softener on.

It just didn't seem to work in the current softening market of California at the time, and certainly wouldn't work now that my area has lost 48-50% in value.

Also be aware that when the rental market softens then the studio will not be quite as desirable, perhaps, as a larger unit.

In my area, I don't think any tenants would think that having a filter or softening system would be of benefit to them, so it wouldn't be a deal breaker if one were not provided.
