I am a Firefighter, husband to a wonderful woman, father to a beautiful little girl, and brand new to Real Estate Investing. 

Had another woman that owned ONLY 16 SFR's but they were in Carmel within a few blocks from the beach. 

Background: A woman owned a property with her primary residence, a guest house, and a warehouse.

However, the woman that answered was sweet as they come.

Humans are humans after all - we have had clients refuse to work with me because I am a woman.

The property is in Ohio.Plumber eventually snaked the toilet and ended up having to remove the toilet from the drain to pull out a kid's extra large toddler plastic blocks so it's definitely not the current tenant's item (separated woman in her 50s who lives alone in the unit with no family visiting).

Throughout the 10-15 minutes I had to endure, here are the assumptions he made:I’m not a real estate agent (I am)I have no idea what comps are (I do) I don’t know the area I’m buying the house in (I do)I had no idea what criteria to look for in a fix and hold property (I know exactly what I’m looking for and found this driving for dollars)I hadn’t done my due diligence on the property or what it would take to fix it (I have) I didn’t understand what ARV is (I do) I haven’t already determined with a contractor approximately how much it will take to repair the house I’m purchasing (I have) Since I’m clearly uninformed (because I’m a woman?)

Negotiated down $15k off price as the woman was wanting out after husband had passed.

The tenant, an elderly woman, lit a fire in the fireplace (14 hours) and it started a fire in the house burning all surrounding areas.

If you are not operating it legally, it could cause problems for you later.Next, I'd report that woman to the authorities.
