This is easy to see in earnings reports for credit card companies (that continue to blow out earnings, with travel as their lead category), hotel companies, and Airbnb itself.I think a lot of it is just going overseas now as international travel continues to strengthen. 

Closing up holes is part of preventing them from coming back in and also preventing them from traveling throughout the house.  

If they agree then I’ll feel much more confident about the whole thing.

Make sure you ae confident with what you are doing and the time that it will take away from whatever else you have going on.Don't worry too much about cash flow in the beginning especially when you are working with limited funds. 

I don't live in OKC, but travel there frequently to visit friends.

Regarding travel during a recession, this comment about less travel is a common misnomer in the investment community.

@Amber DouglasIf you are confident in renting the 6 unit and have funds to carry you through the rehab and lease up then it all comes down to the numbers.

@Collin H.With credit card defaults and auto defaults on the rise as well as overall debt - people will start tightening the belts and first thing they will get rid of is spending on travel and vacations etc So reading this I am not surprised - how has 2024 been compared overall to last year ?

We fought for this for several reasons: 1. tourism is our main economy 2. there are an incredible amount of dilapidated homes that could be renovated and made beautiful if the investment return justified it (which STR in a beach town could) and 3.this is a family-friendly, lower-cost and now COVID friendly way to travel. 

I somehow hove more confidence in the 20 year potential of my SFH than the multi family/duplex/triplex layout of the potential portfolio.
