there were charlatans selling properties to investor who then got audited and the deduction disallowed I got audited for go zone and it was a 15 minute meeting with my CPA just had to prove that all my income comes from my real estate activies which is does/did.But I am thinkng maybe with furniture for STR cant you just expesnse the year your bought it ???

If you try to claim later, "I didn't know" that's like saying being pulled over for going 30 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone and trying ti tell the cop, "I didn't know I couldn't go over the speed limit,...and even if I did it was only by 5 MPH."
