Built 1950, 1700sqft 3bed 2 bath in C Neighborhood (old town area, mostly working families but safe) The city has a household income of 60k and this neighborhood may be around 40k.

Given the average household size of 2.5 persons, a total of 6.9 million new housing units would be needed to accommodate the country’s rising population.

My wife has been a realtor for just shy of a year, and in no way has made enough to support our household (which is my job right now).  

Just mortgage, cell phones, insurance and related house hold expenses (besides mortgage) Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.

A few friends/colleagues are leaving the area because they can't make ends meet with household incomes of 250-300k.

We have some cash under our mattress that's got real estate investing written on it.Most importantly for me, I want to buy myself time as I'm the financial provider of the household.  

Being wasteful was second only to disrespect in the list of household rules.This is a mindset that is nearly impossible to change, even if I wanted to.

I'm looking for help bidding on houses at auction.com, it feels risky..particularly the properties that say "Household Debt: $225,000"Does that mean that the winner of the auction inherits $225,000 in debt?
